Their solution would see the 67-year-old Frenchman become the Arsenal’s first Director Of Football with a figure like Thierry Henry as head coach.

Henry, now the Belgium national team’s assistant coach, developed into a world class player in his eight years at Arsenal, during which time Wenger was his mentor and coach.
Wenger, whose contract expires at the end of the season, has promised a decision soon.
